Why we started
Too often, organizations chase outcomes while overlooking the very force that drives them, people. In her own journey, Neeyati saw this gap play out time and again, where people transformation became a checklist instead of a catalyst, and culture became a by-product instead of a compass.
She founded 89North to change that. Guided by the belief that people are the true engine of growth, she set out to bring clarity where there is fog, frameworks where there is drift, and purpose where there is fragmentation.

At the helm of 89North is Neeyati Shah, an HR leader with over 17 years of experience
shaping how organizations unlock human potential.
Armed with experience across sectors and organizations such as Godrej Agrovet, Monsanto, Tech Mahindra, Nippon India Mutual Fund, Neeyati has been at the forefront of deep work in Organization Development, Culture and Capability Shifts, and Talent and Performance Systems. She blends intellectual rigour with a human-centred approach, bringing both wisdom and energy to every organization she partners with.
An alumnus of Tata Institute of Social Sciences and Symbiosis Institute of Media & Communication, Neeyati thrives off her cross-disciplinary education by blending creativity with people strategy. As a certified coach, she empowers individuals and leaders to realize their potential, while her academic associations allow her to inspire and shape the next generation of HR professionals.
